DGZ Games ("we", "us", "our", or "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our U.S. History Quest mobile application (the "App").
2. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the App includes:
- Account Information: An account is required to use the App. You may create one with an email address and password, or by signing in with your Google Account. If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (if available) from Google. Your password is managed securely by Firebase Authentication — DGZ Games does not store or have direct access to it.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: Quiz results, learning progress, and module completion status
- Age Information: Whether you are under or over 18, used only to select the appropriate content path (Kids or Standard)
- Billing Information: Transaction data related to in-app purchases (processed securely through Google Play)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various purposes including:
- To create, secure, and authenticate your account
- To provide and maintain the App and its functionality
- To personalize your learning experience based on your age group and progress
- To track quiz performance and learning outcomes
- To sync your entitlements and progress to your account
- To process in-app purchase transactions
- To improve and optimize App features
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no security system is impenetrable. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication: To create and manage your account (email/password and Google Sign-In)
- Google Sign-In: To let you sign in using your existing Google account
- Firebase Firestore: To store your account entitlements, age-gate response, and learning progress
- Firebase App Check (Google Play Integrity API): To verify that requests to our backend come from an authentic, unmodified copy of the App running on a genuine Android device
- Google Play Services: For billing and purchases
- Cloud Functions: For purchase verification and entitlement management

7. Children's Privacy
The App is designed to be age-appropriate and may be used by children. Creating an account (with an email address, or through Google Sign-In) is required before the App can be used. Because account creation involves an email address, we ask that a parent or guardian create and manage the account on behalf of any child under 13, and supervise the child's use of the App. We do not knowingly permit a child under 13 to create an account without parental involvement. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account without such involvement, we will take steps to delete the account and associated information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent may contact us at support@dgzgames.com to request deletion.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the App (Settings → About → Delete Account), or by contacting us
- Opt-out of certain data collection practices

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
